Uniform guidelines

At Lowther we want our children to be in smart, practical and comfortable clothes. All children are proud to wear the Lowther School uniform.

Please help us to make sure the children look smart by following the guidance in our Lowther School Family Uniform Policy.

Pupils can wear dark grey or black trousers or shorts to school. Jogging trousers and tracksuit trousers are not permitted apart from in Early Years.

Our Lowther branded uniform can be purchased online from: www.onlineschooluniform.co.uk (or via the School Office).

Pupils do not have to wear branded uniform. Plain green, white and black uniform is also available from most high street stores.

We now have a ‘House’ system across the school from Reception through to Year 6, with special PE tops available to represent each House group.

Lowther School Branded Uniform Options

Lowther Nursery Uniform

The children in our Nursery have a simple uniform: a plain green or white t-shirt or polo shirt, a green jumper or fleece, and plain black or dark grey shorts or joggers.

In warmer weather, pupils may wear a summer dress. Comfortable and practical footwear is encouraged, with Velcro fastenings being ideal.

Lowther Reception Uniform

Reception pupils wear a plain green or white t-shirt or polo shirt, a green jumper or fleece, and plain black or dark grey trousers, shorts, joggers, skirt or dress.

In warmer weather, a summer dress may be worn.

Footwear should be plain black or dark coloured and practical. Velcro fastenings are recommended.

Lowther Uniform (Years 1 – 6)

Green sweatshirt, fleece, jumper or cardigan. Sweatshirts should not have hoods.

Black or dark grey trousers, shorts, skirt or pinafore dress. NO tracksuit trousers, sports shorts, leggings or jogging bottoms. We do allow children in both our Nursery and Reception classes only to wear joggers if they wish. This is for practical reasons.

White or green polo shirt or shirt. (In Nursery and Reception only children may wear a white or green t-shirt or polo shirt). Plain black shoes or other plain dark coloured appropriate footwear. No logos should be visible. No boots are allowed. In warmer weather pupils may wear a green and white checked dress or black/dark grey shorts. These should not be PE shorts. Base layers should not be worn apart from in PE lessons. Tights may be worn with a skirt or pinafore dress (plain green, grey, white and black are allowed. Socks should be plain (plain green, grey, white and black are allowed).
