ICT Club

Welcome to ICT Club

Lowther ICT Club has children attending from years 3 & 4.

Here you'll be able to see some of the amazing work we've been doing...

Computing Club Useful Links

The software we use in Computing club is all free and available for use at home. Some of it is listed below.

Link to get on the school Blog

Want to write your own apps? We do! We use App Inventor from MIT, It can be used from here
http://ai2.appinventor.mit.edu/
(Please note that this will not work with Internet Explorer or Safari, works fine with Chrome and other browsers).

This builds apps for Android devices - running relatively recent versions of Android. If you do not have one of these you can run an emulator on the PC, which can be downloaded from here
http://appinventor.mit.edu/explore/ai2/setup-emulator.html#step2

If you would like to learn how it works, the tutorials are pretty good. We would recommend starting from the first one here

We have been looking at 3D modelling, and have even had some models printed on a 3D printer! The software we use is called Sculptris, and can be accessed here
http://pixologic.com/sculptris/

We have also been writing games using Scratch, also from MIT. It can be used on-line from here
