Lowther Children's Centre

What is the new Children’s Centre building?

It is primarily the extension to our school premises that we have needed in order to move our fantastic Nursery out of the old “temporary” mobile building across the playground from the rest of the school. In 1997, the Governors had a vision for joining the Nursery and Reception children in a new extension of the main building. In 2007, our vision became a reality when the Local Authority agreed with us and the project began. In 2009, we have the Foundation Stage unit as part of our main school and the first class of Nursery and Reception children are making history.

Please visit and enjoy our “school home”.

The remaining new space is dedicated to providing services for our families within our local community. No more bus and car journeys to the clinic as the clinic will come to us!

The new Children's Centre will be able to offer the community:

» Health visitor consultation room
» Interview room
» Wrap-around care facilities
» Desk space for visiting care professionals
» Internet ready computer terminal
» Warm telephones
» Births & deaths register
» Space for community classes\courses
» Community ecology gardens

New Children’s Centre opening party

The building work is now complete for the new Children’s Centre.

Larry, the larger than life builder, joined the opening party to celebrate the start of the buildings use and he also helped the children to eat all the cakes!
